Welcome to Park View!
Park View Preparatory is a school of 21st Century Learning. We have made it our mission, with the help of the school staff and local community, to provide a pathway to literacy and competency in all core subject matter by the end of Sixth Grade. We look to accomplish this through instruction of the California State Standards with a focus on the 4 C's: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. These are the skills identified by the business community, education leaders, and policy makers to best prepare our students to be contributing citizens that actively engage in the workforce.
When you visit the Park View campus you will see students engaged in 21st Century skills in classrooms that are set up to practice cooperative learning while engaging with modern technology. Our instructional models and strategies provide the students with the needed opportunities to build knowledge, process information, learn procedures, think critically, and present information through interacting with others. Weekly team and class building aid in making our classrooms safe spaces for students to openly share ideas. Not only do students experience collaboration - the Park View families can engage as well through attendance at monthly School Site Council (SSC) meetings and or English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meetings!
Students and staff are always encouraged to show their PAWS: Pride, Attitude, Work Ethic, and Safety whenever they are on campus or representing Park View Prep. In times when are PAWS are seen - WE CELEBRATE!! In times when our PAWS are not seen, we intervene and teach. PAWS are an essential part of being a Park View Panther.
Park View Preparatory has a strong community of support for the students. Our Extended Learning Opportunities curricular include academic intervention in literacy and mathematics, Cooking, Chorus, Junior Olympics, Robotics, and Zumba. Combine these with weekly instruction focused on teaching all students to read and think critically and the Panthers of Park View will thrive and grow!
I am extremely excited to continue this journey with the PAWSome students, families, and staff of Park View Preparatory. I want to thank you for allowing the entire Park View Staff to be a part of your child's education.
Sincerely,
Brandon Spalding
