Park View's PBIS

Show Your PAWS!
Park View Prep is a proud 2017 California PBIS Coalition Silver Recognition recipient. As a Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) school, the students at Park View are expected to show their PAWS- Pride, Attitude, Work Ethic, and Safety on a daily basis. Park View teaches and energizes our school's behavioral expectations to solidify a culture of collaboration and safety.  Some ways we teach and reinforce our PAWS are:

-Panther PAW positive behavior tickets
-Weekly Drawings
-Daily Announcements
-Monthly School-Wide Celebrations and Assemblies
-Reteaching Expectations
-Signs Posted in All Areas of Campus

There is also a bucket that students try to fill with their PAWS. Once they have reached that goal, Mr. Barles will perform a stunt. Some past stunts performed were eating bugs, shaving his head, being a cowboy for a day, and spending a day on the roof of the library.

Park View staff focuses on creating a positive school climate through Win-Win Discipline.  This behavior management practice revolves around 3 pillars:

-same side
-collaborative solutions
-learned responsibility

These strategies encompass ways to work with kids for them to be successful, and truly understand how to respond to difficult situations. Park View believes in getting to the core of the issues and finding solutions in a collaborative manner for greater student outcomes.

Our PBIS runs effectively through the dedication of our PBIS team.  This group of teachers, classified personnel, and administration with the aid of a parent and proctor representative plans and executes all events and PBIS initiatives for the school.

Special thanks to PBIS Coaches Mrs. Hewitt, Mrs. Willey, and Ms. Garcia for their devotion to a cause to help all children to succeed!
