Park View's Foundation: Cooperative Learning

                                                                               Kagan Cooperative Learning

Park View Preparatory integrates Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures throughout the day. The goal of cooperative learning is to make sure students are engaged in the content they are taught and to learn in a fun, safe environment.

Our teachers create classrooms which encompass the 7 Keys to cooperative learning:
1.Teams
2 ClassBuilding
3.TeamBuilding
4.Management
5.Social Skills
6.Principles
7.Structures

When these elements are in place, a safe, collaborative atmosphere is established for students to learn from one another and express ideas freely for greater gains.

All teachers have a minimum of 35 hours of professional development in Kagan Cooperative Learning.  Other Kagan training our teachers attended is 7 hours of iPad Engagement, 14 hours of Thinking Skills, and at least 14 hours of Win-Win Discipline.
